Charlie has been an employee with the David D. Hunting Y since it opened in 2005 and now leads the personal training team.  He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University where he got his Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Fitness and Wellness through the American College of Sports Medicine, Charlie is a certified Health and Fitness Specialist.

Nick graduated from GVSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a Health and Fitness Emphasis. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. To train Nick uses Olympic-lifting techniques, interval training, and body weight exercises.

Brian is A.C.E. certified and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Olivet College. Being an Olivet All-American Collegiate Wrestler, he went on to become their assistant wrestling coach. Brian uses a wide array of unique training methods to help clients on their journey to not only reach their health and fitness goals, but to help them grow mentally strong.

Brian has is a B.A. in English and B.S. in Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. He is an ACSM certified personal trainer and his favorite workouts are strength training and doing a cardio circuit “blitz.”

Jessica received her Bachelors degree in Dietetics from Central Michigan University and her dietetic internship was through Michigan State University. As a Registered Dietitian she is passionate in sharing her knowledge and love of food and nutrition. Jessica enjoys helping clients make positive nutritional changes for healthy living. She believes that nutrition and fitness are the key for top athletic performance, disease prevention, and a healthier lifestyle.

Chad has his personal training certification through the American Council on Exercise and also his primary group exercise instruction certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. He is attending Grand Valley State University finishing his degree in Exercise Science: Clinical Exercise Science. Chad uses a variety of training methods from high intensity cross fit training to simple orthodox strength training.

Matt is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. He attended Western Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science along with a minor in Holistic Healthcare. His approach to wellness incorporates both of these areas of study to provide clients the knowledge and tools needed to live a healthy lifestyle.

Jim is a certified personal trainer through the Blue Heron Academy and the American Council on Exercise. Jim as a passion for running and has competed in it most of his life. He teaches the Running Club (advanced runners), Five K Continuum (intermediate), and the Couch to 5K running programs. His favorite workout is called a “three, two, one pick up running drill.”
